Signature is a World Class winter color guard from Westminster, Colorado. On staff are Tracy Wooton, JC Careres, Angie Haugejorden, Joe Sowders, and Steve Takata. "The thing about performance, even if it's only an illusion, is that it is a celebration of the fact that we do contain within ourselves infinite possibilities." Daniel Day Lewis For the 2008 season, Signature, from Westminster, CO presents their show entitled Backstage. The two time IW Class Finalist will be exploring the world that exists behind the bright lights and applause of the stage. Known for it's stunning sets, floors and costumes, this year will be of particular interest to Signature fans. The setting will include not only the backstage of a theatre, but the "performance area" of the stage as well. The entire set will be presented in reverse, so the audience will have a close up view of life backstage in the theatre. Performers will "enter and exit" between the two areas throughout the production. So in essence, Signature will be presenting 2 shows during their performance! The costumes will also be effectively "split" to represent both on and off stage. One side will be predominantly black, while the other side will be highlighted with bright reds and oranges to interpret the feel of the "on stage" production. The modern soundtrack, by the group The Dear Hunter, includes the songs Battesimo Del Fuoco, The River North, The Bitter Suite 1, The Death and the Birth, and Blood of the Rose. Signature’s Director Steve Takata says, "These 19 young men and women are the most talented ensemble we've ever had. We are very excited about the 2008 season". Watch for Signature's production of Backstage at the Dallas, Denver, and West Power Regionals along with WGI Championships in Dayton. |
